Violation Tracker UK Individual Case
Company: Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI)
Penalty: £0
Year: 2018
Date: 30 November, 2018
Offence Group: safety-related offences
Offence Type: childcare and educational services violation
Violation Description: Following an Ofqual audit programme that reviewed a group of awarding organisations' arrangements for the management of Centre subcontracting to other third parties, Ofqual identified defects in CISI's approach. Principally, Ofqual found that CISI did not provide its Centres with a definition of subcontracting or adequately monitor and, where appropriate, enforce its arrangements with Centres, in respect to their subcontracting activities. Also, CISI did not recognise one provider as a Centre when it should have done. CISI accepted that it had breached Ofqual's General Conditions of Recognition and gave Ofqual an undertaking to secure compliance with the Conditions. Ofqual did not find any evidence to suggest that there had been an adverse effect as a result of the defects.
