Violation Description: The proposed fine follows an error which affected assessments for OCR's GCSE English Literature qualification in the 2017 summer series. OCR's assessment was not fit for purpose because a question about Shakespeare's play 'Romeo and Juliet' which should have referred to 'the Montagues' instead referred to 'the Capulets'. On 25 July 2018, Ofqual formally issued OCR with a notice requiring it to pay costs of £11,855.
